About

My name is Scott Shagory and I am the founder of this blog focused on business strategy and the Internet of Things (IoT).  I have been in the technology space for more than 16 years and have a real passion for strategy.  I find the IoT domain fascinating because its complexity and multi-dimensional nature requires firms and other stakeholders be clear about how they are differentiating themselves and competing in a rapidly changing industry.

The focus of this blog will be how business strategy drives IoT innovation and helps firms find clarity in a noise filled, fluid marketplace.  There are many other IoT blogs, but none of them focus exclusively on the IoT space through a strategy lens.  Instead, their conversations are driven predominantly by technology.  Technology discussions will certainly play an important role here.  However, in my view, too many IoT conversations take place in a business vacuum.

My essential goal with this blog will be to share insights on strategy with a wide variety of people interested in the IoT space.  Communication will be in plain language as both IoT and strategy share a propensity for specialized verbiage that curbs discussion and engagement.  Discussing topics simply and succinctly is a clear sign of understanding.
